a III. Pray for All Men
Pray for the Nations in the 10/40 Window

Child Praying

1 Timothy 2
New King James Version (NKJV)

Pray for All Men

1 Timothy 2:1-8
1 Therefore I exhort first of all
that supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and giving of thanks be made for all men,
2 for kings and all who are in authority,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life
in all godliness and reverence.
3 For this is good and acceptable
in the sight of God our Savior,
4 who desires all men to be saved
and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God and one Mediator
between God and men,
the Man Christ Jesus,
6 who gave Himself a ransom for all,
to be testified in due time,
7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle
—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying
—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere,
lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;

PRAYER AND PETITION - Hymn: "Sweet Hour of Prayer" - (Psalm 94:9; Matthew 7:7,8; Philippians 4:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:17,18; 1 John 5:14,15...)

PRAYER

Philippians 4
6 do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

1 Thessalonians 5,
17 pray without ceasing,
18 give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus for you.

Sweet Hour of Prayer

1) English

1. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make al
l my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

2. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Savior shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

3. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!T
hy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

4. Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
May I thy consolation share,
Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height,
I view my home and take my flight:
This robe of flesh I’ll drop and rise
To seize the everlasting prize;
And shout, while passing through the air,
“Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!”

1. ¡Oh dulce, grata oración!

Tú del contacto mundanal

me elevarás a la mansión

del tierno Padre celestial.

Huyendo yo la tentación

y toda influencia terrenal.

Por Cristo que murió por mí,

será mi ruego oído allí.

2. ¡Oh dulce, grata oración!

A quien escucha con bondad

elevas Tú mi corazón:

a Dios que ama con verdad.

Espero yo Su bendición,

perfecta paz y santidad,

por Cristo que murió por mí,

por El que me ha salvado aquí.

3. ¡Oh Padre mío, Dios de amor!

Escucha Tú mi oración.

¡Oh Cristo mi fiel Salvador!

Escucha Tú mi oración

¡Espíritu Consolador!

Escucha Tú mi oración.

Bendíceme, ¡Oh Trinidad,

que estás en la eternidad!

8) Portuguese

1. Bendita a hora de oração,
pois traz-nos paz ao coração
e alívio dá em meio à dor,
trazendo auxílio do Senhor.
Em tempos de perturbação,
na dor maior, na tentação,
procurarei com mais fervor
a comunhão com o Senhor.

2. Bendita a hora de oração,
produto só da devoção,
que eleva ao céu o seu odor,
em doce cheiro ao meu Senhor.
E, finda a hora de aflição,
os dias maus, a tentação,
então darei melhor louvor
a meu Jesus, a meu Senhor.

3. Bendita a hora de oração,
de plena paz e comunhão,
que traz-me fé e mais amor
e enche a vida de dulçor.
Desejo a vida aqui findar
com fé, amor, constante orar,
e lá no céu de resplendor
eu cantarei a Deus louvor.

1. Are you weary, are you heavy hearted?
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus.
Are you grieving over joys departed?
Tell it to Jesus alone.

Refrain

Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus,
He is a Friend that’s well known.

You’ve no other such a friend or brother,
Tell it to Jesus alone.

2. Do the tears flow down your cheeks unbidden?
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus.
Have you sins that to men’s eyes are hidden?
Tell it to Jesus alone.

3. Do you fear the gathering clouds of sorrow?
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus.
Are you anxious what shall be tomorrow?
Tell it to Jesus alone.

4. Are you troubled at the thought of dying?
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus.
For Christ’s coming kingdom are you sighing?
Tell it to Jesus alone.

1. Cuando estés cansado y abatido,

dilo a Cristo, dilo a Cristo,

Si te sientes débil, confundido,

Dilo a Cristo el Señor.

Dilo a Cristo, dilo a Cristo,

Él es tu amigo más fiel;

No hay otro amigo como Cristo,

Dilo tan sólo a Él.

2. Cuando estés de tentación cercado,

mira a Cristo, mira a Cristo,

cuando rugen huestes de pecado,

mira a Cristo el Señor.

Mira a Cristo, mira a Cristo

Él es tu amigo más fiel;

no hay otro amigo como Cristo,

Dilo tan sólo a Él.

3. Si se apartan otros de la senda,

sigue a Cristo, sigue a Cristo,

si acrecienta en torno la contienda,

sigue a Cristo el Señor.

Sigue a Cristo, sigue a Cristo

Él es tu amigo más fiel;

no hay otro amigo como Cristo,

Dilo tan sólo a Él.

4. Cuando llegue la final jornada,

fía en Cristo, fía en Cristo

te dará en el reino franca entrada,

fía en Cristo el Señor.

Fía en Cristo, fía en Cristo

Él es tu amigo más fiel;

no hay otro amigo como Cristo,

Dilo tan sólo a Él.
